Course Overview
The Jecheon Cheongpung Lake Drive is a 40 km lakeside route around Cheongpungho (Chungju Lake), formed by the Chungju Dam. The blue lake surrounded by mountains offers stunning scenery in every season.
Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex is an open-air museum preserving cultural assets relocated before the dam's construction. The view of Cheongpungho from Hanbyeokru Pavilion is considered one of Chungbuk's finest panoramas.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Cheongpung-myeon to Cultural Heritage Complex (approx. 10 km)
Head from Jecheon city along Route 82 toward Cheongpung-myeon, where the lake first reveals itself at the complex entrance.
Section 2: Cultural Heritage Complex to Bibongsan (approx. 15 km)
Drive alongside the lake with rest areas offering lake views. Bibongsan Observatory provides a panoramic overview of the entire lake.
Section 3: Bibongsan to Geumwolbong (approx. 15 km)
The return route along the southern shore passes through peaceful lakeside villages.
