Course Overview

The Daecheongho 500-ri Road follows the shoreline of Korea's largest multipurpose dam lake, spanning Daejeon and Chungbuk. This route starts at Daecheong Dam, follows the western lakeshore past Mt. Gyejoksan, and returns along the eastern shore.

Hills of 200-300 meters draped with trees line the lake, blooming with cherry blossoms in spring and blazing with autumn colors in fall. Early mornings when mist rises over the lake are particularly magical.

Section 1: Daecheong Dam to Daecheong Park (approx. 10 km)

Start with panoramic lake views from the Daecheong Dam observatory, then proceed to Daecheong Park downstream.

Section 2: Daecheong Park to Mt. Gyejoksan (approx. 15 km)
