Course Overview

An 18 km drive following Gangneung's cultural heritage. Spring brings spectacular cherry blossoms around Gyeongpo Lake, while Ojukheon and Seongyojang offer Joseon Dynasty aristocratic culture experiences.

Ojukheon is the birthplace of Yulgok Yi I (featured on the 5,000 won bill), where Shin Saimdang gave birth to him. Seongyojang is a 300-year-old traditional house where hanok stays are available.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Gyeongpo Lake Cherry Blossom Road (approx. 6 km)

Drive along the cherry blossom road circling Gyeongpo Lake. Peak in early April.

Section 2: Gyeongpo Lake to Ojukheon (approx. 5 km)

Trace the footsteps of Yulgok and Shin Saimdang at Ojukheon.

Section 3: Ojukheon to Seongyojang (approx. 7 km)

Experience traditional hanok culture at the 300-year-old Seongyojang aristocratic estate.
