Course Overview
A 12 km gourmet loop drive through downtown Sokcho. Taste squid sundae at Abai Village, enjoy dakgangjeong (sweet-and-sour chicken) at Jungang Market, and relax at a lakeside cafe at Cheongcho Lake.
Abai Village was settled by refugees from Hamgyeong-do during the Korean War, featuring a unique hand-pulled cable ferry crossing.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Abai Village (approx. 3 km)
Take the cable ferry to Abai Village for squid sundae.
Section 2: Jungang Market (approx. 4 km)
Enjoy market foods including Manseok dakgangjeong and Sokcho red crab.
Section 3: Cheongcho Lake (approx. 5 km)
Drive around Cheongcho Lake. End with coffee at a lakeside cafe.
Driving Tips
- Abai Village cable ferry: free service
- Visit Manseok Dakgangjeong before 11 AM to avoid queues
- Evening drive recommended for beautiful Cheongcho Lake night views
- Can combine with Sokcho Haesupia (foot bath experience)
