Course Overview
This approximately 12 km night drive explores Gyeongju after sunset. Daereungwon's Silla royal tombs take on a mystical atmosphere under illumination.
Pass through Hwangnidan-gil's trendy cafes and hanok guesthouses before finishing at the illuminated Cheomseongdae Observatory. Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond's nighttime reflections are the crown jewel of Gyeongju's night scenery.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Daereungwon at Night (approx. 4 km)
Drive along the perimeter of illuminated royal tombs.
Section 2: Hwangnidan-gil (approx. 3 km)
Gyeongju's hottest neighborhood with hanok-converted cafes and dessert shops.
Section 3: Cheomseongdae to Donggung and Wolji (approx. 5 km)
The illuminated observatory and pond reflections at Donggung Palace are the climax.
Driving Tips
- Donggung and Wolji night admission: 3,000 won for adults (open until 21:00)
- Hwangnidan-gil is very crowded on weekend evenings; weekday visits recommended
- Try Gyeongju ten-won bread and Gyeongju bread as snacks
- Many one-way streets near Daereungwon; GPS navigation essential
