Course Overview
Starting from Seogwipo Port and heading east along the coast through Bomok Port, Soesokkak, and Wimi Port, this is Seogwipo City's signature coastal drive. Unlike the bustling tourist spots in central Seogwipo, this route reveals tranquil fishing villages and hidden coastal scenery.
From the serene fishing village at Bomok, to the mysterious lava canyon at Soesokkak, to the camellia groves at Wimi, the diverse sights keep unfolding. With relatively few tourists, you can enjoy a relaxed drive throughout.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Seogwipo Port to Bomok Port (approx. 8km)
From Seogwipo Port, pass Jeongbang Waterfall and head east. Bomok Port is a quiet fishing village where haenyeo (sea women) still dive, offering a peaceful scene of clear waters and a small lighthouse.
Section 2: Bomok to Soesokkak (approx. 7km)
East of Bomok lies Soesokkak, where water flowing from Hallasan meets the sea at a mysterious lava canyon. Transparent kayak tours through the canyon are hugely popular.
Section 3: Soesokkak to Wimi Port (approx. 10km)
Follow the coastal road through Namwon to Wimi Port. Wimi-ri is famous for its winter camellias; the Wimi Camellia Forest (natural monument) blooms with red flowers from January to February.
