Course Overview
This short but rewarding drive cuts through the heart of Seogwipo city. Starting from Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, it passes through the bustling Maeil Olle Market and the artsy Lee Jung-seop Street before arriving at Jeongbang Waterfall. Though the distance is short, you get to visit two of Jeju's three most famous waterfalls in one trip.
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is a majestic 22m cascade that is beautifully illuminated for nighttime viewing. Jeongbang Waterfall is Korea's only waterfall that plunges directly into the ocean from a 23m vertical cliff face.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Cheonjiyeon Waterfall (approx. 2km)
Follow a subtropical forest path from the parking lot to discover the 22m-high, 12m-wide waterfall with its 20m-deep pool below. The surrounding grove of rare Podocarpus trees is a designated natural monument.
Section 2: Seogwipo City Center (approx. 3km)
Browse Jeju specialties and street food at Maeil Olle Market, then soak in the artistic atmosphere of Lee Jung-seop Street with its galleries and cafes.
Section 3: Jeongbang Waterfall (approx. 3.5km)
Korea's only oceanfront waterfall drops 23m directly into the sea. The view from the coastal rocks below the falls is truly unforgettable.
Driving Tips
- Duration: Allow 3-4 hours including walking tours
- Entry fees: Cheonjiyeon (2,500 KRW), Jeongbang (2,000 KRW)
- Night viewing: Cheonjiyeon is open until 10 PM with beautiful illumination
- Parking: Paid parking at both waterfall sites
