Course Overview
This approximately 28 km drive starts at the shrine of Nongae, the patriotic heroine of the Imjin War, in her hometown of Jangsu, then climbs Palgongsan Mountain (1,151 m) for panoramic views of eastern Jeonbuk.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Jangsu to Nongae Shrine (approx. 8 km)
Visit the shrine and birthplace surrounded by pine forests.
Section 2: Highland Plateau (approx. 10 km)
Cross apple orchards and cattle farms on the Jangsu plateau.
Section 3: To Palgongsan Summit (approx. 10 km)
Mountain road to the summit with panoramic autumn views.
Driving Tips
- Nongae Shrine: free admission
- Some unpaved sections on Palgongsan road
- Try hanwoo at Jangsu beef restaurant street
- Autumn foliage is the most beautiful season
