Course Overview

The Gochang Seonunsan to Dolmen Sites Drive covers approximately 35 km from the thousand-year-old Seonunsa Temple to the UNESCO World Heritage Gochang Dolmen Sites. The route begins amid lush forests and the serene atmosphere of Seonunsan Provincial Park, passes through Gochangeupseong Fortress, and ends at one of the world's densest dolmen clusters.

Seonunsa is famous for spring camellias and autumn foliage. In April, over 3,000 camellia trees, some over 500 years old, create a spectacular crimson display. The dolmen site contains 447 dolmens offering a window into prehistoric culture.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Seonunsa to Seonunsan Provincial Park (approx. 8 km)

The approach to the temple features tunnels of camellia and maple trees. Climb to Dosolam Hermitage for panoramic views of the West Coast.

Section 2: Seonunsan to Gochangeupseong (approx. 15 km)

The stone fortress, also known as Moyangseong, allows you to walk along the walls with views of the town below.

Section 3: Gochangeupseong to Dolmen Sites (approx. 12 km)

Head south to reach the UNESCO site with its dolmen museum offering insights into prehistoric history.
