Course Overview

Ganghwado Island holds 5,000 years of history since the era of Dangun, with dolmens (UNESCO World Heritage), Jeondeungsa Temple, and Gwangseongbo Fortress scattered across the island. This 60 km course crosses Ganghwa Bridge and loops the island's coast.

Wide West Coast tidal flats, sunsets, and inland rural landscapes harmonize beautifully. Local specialties include turnip, sweet potato, and fermented seafood.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Ganghwa Bridge to Jeondeungsa (approx. 15 km)

Cross the bridge to visit Jeondeungsa, a temple founded during the Goguryeo era.

Section 2: Jeondeungsa to Gwangseongbo (approx. 15 km)

Drive south along the coast to the Gwangseongbo fortress (Sinmiyangyo battle site).

Section 3: Gwangseongbo to Seongmodo (approx. 15 km)

Cross to Seongmodo Island for Bomunsa Temple's cliff Buddha and Minmeoru Beach.

Section 4: Seongmodo to Ganghwa Town (approx. 15 km)

Return to the main island and finish in Ganghwa town.
