Course Overview
Namhae is famous for its unique landscape of sea, mountains, and terraced rice paddies. In spring, canola flowers bloom between the coastline and the daraengi paddies, creating beautiful contrasts of yellow flowers and blue sea.
This 30 km drive runs from Namhae town along the Nammyeon coastal road to Daraengi Village and on to the German Village.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Namhae Town to Nammyeon Coastal Road (approx. 12 km)
The clean sea of Namhae unfolds outside the window with scattered canola along the coast.
Section 2: Daraengi Village (approx. 8 km)
Scenic Site No. 15, where 108 terraced paddies on steep slopes are dotted with canola flowers against the South Sea backdrop.
Section 3: Daraengi Village to German Village (approx. 10 km)
Following the coastal road to the German Village, where German-style houses create an exotic atmosphere against the sea.
Driving Tips
- Canola bloom period is late March to mid-April
- Daraengi Village is steep; park and explore on foot
- Try Namhae anchovy wraps (myeolchi ssambap) and monk fish soup
- German Village serves German beer and sausages
