The Boeun Songnisan Maltijae Winding Road is Chungbuk's most famous winding course. Just 1.5 km of road features 12 hairpin turns climbing from 270 m to 430 m elevation, making it a pilgrimage for car, motorcycle, and cycling enthusiasts.

The Maltijae Observatory offers a bird's-eye view of all 12 curves. At the summit, the Baekdudaegan Songnisan Gateway (opened 2017) houses a cultural exhibition and observation facilities. In autumn, the combination of Songnisan's foliage and the winding road draws visitors from across the country.

Section 1: Jangjaeri to Maltijae 12 Curves (approx. 5 km)

Section 2: Maltijae Summit to Beopjusa Entrance (approx. 8 km)

Section 3: Beopjusa to Songnisan Tourist Complex (approx. 5 km)

Beopjusa is a UNESCO World Heritage temple founded during the Silla Dynasty, famous for its wooden five-story Palsangjeon pagoda.
