Course Overview
The Cheongju Sangdangsanseong to Daecheongho Drive begins at the historic Sangdang Fortress east of Cheongju city center and winds its way south past Suamgol Mural Village to the tranquil shores of Daecheong Lake, covering approximately 38 km. The 4.2 km fortress wall, dating back to the Baekje period, offers panoramic views of Cheongju before the route transitions to lakeside scenery.
Cherry blossoms line the fortress approach road in spring, while autumn brings vivid foliage around Daecheong Lake. Suamgol Mural Village, once a hillside settlement formed by Korean War refugees, features charming wall paintings throughout its narrow alleys.
