Course Overview

This 24 km historical and cultural course starts from Uirimji, Korea's oldest reservoir built during the Samhan period, and reaches Baeron Holy Ground, site of Korea's first Catholic seminary.

Uirimji is as beautiful as a natural lake, with a well-maintained 1.8 km walking path. The pine grove along the embankment, called Jerim, adds charm. Baeron Holy Ground lies in a quiet valley with a church and martyrs' cemetery.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Uirimji to Downtown Jecheon (approx. 5 km)

Walk around Uirimji before heading to downtown. The Jecheon 5-day market adds extra vibrancy on market days.

Section 2: Downtown to Bakdaljae Pass (approx. 10 km)

Bakdaljae, famous from the folk song "Crying Over Bakdaljae," offers a gentle mountain ascent.

Section 3: Bakdaljae to Baeron Holy Ground (approx. 9 km)

Descend through a mountain valley to the peaceful Baeron Holy Ground, part of the Catholic pilgrimage trail.
