Course Overview
Chungnam's west coast features multiple seawalls built from large-scale land reclamation projects. This course starts at Sapgyoho Seawall, passes through Ganwolho Seawall, and continues through the Cheonsuman Bay area.
Driving atop the seawalls presents a unique contrast between ocean on one side and farmland on the other. During autumn harvest, golden rice paddies against the sea create a spectacular scene.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Sapgyoho Seawall (approx. 15 km)
A straight road connecting Dangjin to Seosan, with open vistas on both sides.
Section 2: Ganwolho Seawall (approx. 20 km)
Drive between Ganwolho Lake and Cheonsuman Bay. Detour to Ganwoldo for Ganwolam Temple.
Section 3: Cheonsuman to Taean (approx. 20 km)
Pass through Cheonsuman tidal flat areas toward Taean. Winter brings migratory birds for birdwatching.
