Course Overview

Baekdamsa is a historic temple in Seoraksan's Inner Seorak, where independence activist Han Yong-un wrote the Declaration of Independence. The 18 km drive from Inje Yongdae-ri features clear Baekdam Valley waters and autumn foliage.

In autumn, Inner Seorak's foliage colors first in Korea, creating spectacular scenery by early October.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Yongdae-ri to Baekdam Trailhead (approx. 10 km)

Pass Yongdae-ri Natural Recreation Forest and climb along Baekdam Valley.

Section 2: Trailhead to Baekdamsa (approx. 8 km)

Take the shuttle bus or walk to Baekdamsa. Beautiful valley and forest trails.

  • No private vehicles to Baekdamsa; park at Yongdae-ri and take shuttle
