Uiryeong is famous as the hometown of General Gwak Jae-u and his righteous army. This drive along Uiryeongcheon River combines unspoiled rural landscapes with historical sites. Spring brings canola flowers along the riverbank, while autumn offers cosmos and golden rice paddies.

Uiryeong hanwoo beef is among Gyeongnam's finest, available at reasonable prices in town. Historical sites include Chungiksa (General Gwak's shrine) and Jeongamjin (site of the first righteous army battle).

Visit the shrine of General Gwak Jae-u, the "Red-Robed General" who led righteous army forces during the Imjin War.

Section 2: Chungiksa to Uiryeongcheon Riverside (approx. 7 km)
