Course Overview

The Hallim-Hangyeong coastal drive runs approximately 25 km from Hallim Port west of Hyeopjae Beach to the Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road. Compared to the bustling Aewol coast, this stretch is relatively quiet and offers a more relaxed driving experience.

Wind turbines lined up against the backdrop of Biyangdo and Chagwido islands create an exotic yet distinctly Jeju atmosphere. The Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road, part of Jeju Olle Trail Route 14-1, is renowned as one of the island's best sunset spots.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Hallim Port to Geumneung Beach (approx. 8 km)

Starting from Hallim Port, passing Hallim Park (lava caves, subtropical gardens). Geumneung Beach is as beautiful as Hyeopjae but far less crowded.

Section 2: Geumneung to Suwolbong (approx. 10 km)

Chagwido Island comes into view past Gosan-ri. Suwolbong, a UNESCO Global Geopark site, offers a fantastic sunset from its cliff-top trail.

Section 3: Suwolbong to Sinchang Windmill Road (approx. 7 km)

Giant wind turbines line the coast, creating a unique landscape. Photo zones are set up where sky, sea, and windmills converge.

Driving Tips

  • Hallim Park admission: KRW 12,000 (includes lava caves, botanical garden, folk village)
