Course Overview
The Seogwipo Jungmun Coastal Drive follows one of Jeju's best-maintained scenic roads. Centered around the Jungmun Tourist Complex, this route connects major attractions including Jusangjeolli Cliffs, Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, and Yeomiji Botanical Garden.
With excellent road conditions and well-equipped parking facilities, this course is especially recommended for families. Consider stopping along the Olle Trail sections that trace the coastal cliffs for a pleasant walk.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Jungmun Beach to Jusangjeolli Cliffs (approx. 5km)
Starting from the emerald waters of Jungmun Saekdal Beach, follow the coastal road eastward to the magnificent Jusangjeolli Cliffs, where tens of thousands of hexagonal stone columns line the coast.
Section 2: Cheonjeyeon Waterfall to Yeomiji Botanical Garden (approx. 8km)
Cheonjeyeon Waterfall cascades in three stages, with the view from Seonim Bridge being particularly stunning. Nearby, Yeomiji Botanical Garden is the largest greenhouse botanical garden in Asia.
Section 3: Beophwan Port to Wolpyeong (approx. 9km)
This coastal road section runs from Jungmun toward Seogwipo city center, featuring the tranquil fishing village of Beophwan and the beautiful rock formations along Wolpyeong Coast.
Driving Tips
- Duration: Allow at least half a day if visiting the attractions
- Entry fees: Jusangjeolli (2,000 KRW), Cheonjeyeon Falls (2,500 KRW), Yeomiji (10,000 KRW)
- Parking: Paid parking available at each attraction
- Best season: Accessible year-round; spring (canola flowers) and autumn are ideal
- Cafes: Numerous ocean-view cafes are scattered around the Jungmun area
