Course Overview

This coastal drive starts from Seongsan Ilchulbong (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Jeju's eastern icon, and continues through Gwangchigi Beach to the picturesque Seopjikoji. Combining the grandeur of Sunrise Peak with the romance of Seopjikoji, this is one of Jeju's most beloved drive routes.

The silhouette of Seongsan Ilchulbong seen from Gwangchigi Beach is a famous sunrise spot, while Seopjikoji offers Tadao Ando's Glass House and sweeping ocean panoramas.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Seongsan Ilchulbong (approx. 4km)

The hike from the parking lot to the 182m summit takes about 30 minutes. From the top, the wide crater, the sea, and Udo Island spread out before you. Visit at dawn for a memorable sunrise.

Section 2: Gwangchigi Beach (approx. 5km)

South of Ilchulbong, Gwangchigi Beach features moss-covered rocks framing the peak beautifully. It is also the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Route 1.

Section 3: Seopjikoji (approx. 7km)

Walk along clifftop trails to discover Tadao Ando's "Genius Loci" building, canola flower fields, and a lighthouse. Spring brings canola flowers; autumn offers silver grass.
