Course Overview
This 30 km drive starts from Dasan Chodang, where scholar Jeong Yak-yong wrote his masterwork Mongminsimseo during 18 years of exile, and follows Gangjin Bay to Gaudo Island.
Gaudo is a small island in the middle of Gangjin Bay, connected by suspension bridges on both sides for a thrilling walk over the sea. Gangjin is the birthplace of Goryeo celadon, with the Goryeo Celadon Museum showcasing a thousand years of ceramic culture.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Dasan Chodang to Baengnyeonsa (approx. 5 km)
The forest path between Dasan Chodang and Baengnyeonsa Temple is famous for its camellia tree tunnel. Both sites are walkable.
Section 2: Baengnyeonsa to Celadon Museum (approx. 12 km)
Following Gangjin Bay's western coast to Daegu-myeon. Admire the beauty of jade-green celadon at the museum.
Section 3: Museum to Gaudo (approx. 13 km)
Driving south along the bay to reach the Gaudo suspension bridge. Walk across and circle the island.
