Course Overview
This 30 km drive is ideal in mid-March when the Sandong-myeon area at the foot of Jirisan Mountain is blanketed in yellow sansuyu (cornus) blossoms. The route circuits villages like Sangwi and Hyeoncheon before continuing to Hwaeomsa Temple.
In autumn, red sansuyu berries paint the villages crimson for a different charm. Hwaeomsa Temple, founded during the Silla Dynasty's King Jinheung reign, houses national treasures including the Gakhwangjeon Hall and Four Lions Three-Story Stone Pagoda.
