Course Overview
This 22 km urban drive starts from Mudeungsan National Park entrance and continues to the 5·18 Democracy Square and Chungjangno food alley in downtown Gwangju. Mudeungsan (1,187m) is Gwangju's symbol, with the Seoseokdae and Ipseokdae columnar joints (Natural Monument) at its summit creating a magnificent display of stone pillars.
Gwangju is the sacred site of the May 18 Democratic Uprising and a city of arts, where the Asia Culture Center and Chungjangno food alley offer culture and cuisine together. Try Gwangju's five signature dishes: lettuce fritters, duck soup, Songjeong tteokgalbi, Mudeungsan barley rice, and Gwangju kimchi.
