Course Overview
This 35 km drive starts from the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival grounds (held April-May annually) and continues to Muan's Hoesan White Lotus Pond. The butterfly festival features tulips, canola fields, and butterfly experiences, perfect for families.
Muan's Hoesan White Lotus Pond spans 100,000 pyeong, covered in white lotus blossoms during peak season in July-August. This is a leisurely countryside drive across the Hampyeong and Muan plains.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Butterfly Festival Grounds (approx. 5 km)
Explore flower fields and the butterfly ecology center at Hampyeong Expo Park.
Section 2: Hampyeong to Muan (approx. 20 km)
Cross the Hampyeong plain toward Muan through typical Honam flatland scenery of rice paddies and fields.
Section 3: Hoesan White Lotus Pond (approx. 10 km)
Walk through the 100,000-pyeong lotus complex with white lotus, red lotus, and water lilies.
