Course Overview
This 40 km drive crosses the Angel Bridge (7.22 km, opened 2019), Korea's longest inter-island bridge, through Amtaedo and Jaeundo to the Purple Islands of Banwol and Bakji. The bridge offers panoramic views of the Dadohae archipelago.
The Purple Islands feature purple-painted roofs, walls, and roads on Banwoldo and Bakjido, with lavender and purple flowers planted throughout. It has become a hugely popular Instagram destination for young travelers.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Angel Bridge (approx. 7 km)
A 7.22 km maritime bridge from Aphaedo to Amtaedo with panoramic island views.
Section 2: Amtaedo to Jaeundo (approx. 18 km)
Traveling from Amtaedo toward Jaeundo through humble fishing villages and tidal flat scenery.
Section 3: Jaeundo to Purple Islands (approx. 15 km)
Via Anjwado to Banwol and Bakji islands. Walk across the purple bridge and enjoy photo zones throughout the island.
