Course Overview
This 32 km drive crosses Wando Bridge, passes through Wando town, crosses Sinji Bridge, and reaches Myeongsasimni Beach. Known as "Singing Sand Beach" for the sound its sand makes in the wind, its 3.8 km white sand stretch is considered the South Sea's finest beach.
Wando is a treasure trove of seafood including abalone, seaweed, and kelp, perfect for fresh seafood cuisine. Adding Wando Arboretum and Jang Bogo Memorial Museum enriches the trip.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Wando Bridge to Wando Town (approx. 10 km)
Wando Port appears after crossing the bridge. Enjoy fresh sashimi and abalone at the fish market.
Section 2: Wando to Sinji Bridge (approx. 12 km)
Driving east along Wando's coastal road with views of scattered islands.
Section 3: Sinji Bridge to Myeongsasimni (approx. 10 km)
Entering Sinji Island, the beach soon appears. Walk along the 3.8 km white sand stretch or stop to explore the shoreline.
Driving Tips
- Myeongsasimni Beach is officially open July-August; walking only other times
- Try abalone porridge and raw abalone near Wando fish market
- Wando Arboretum is free admission with warm-climate forest experiences
- Drive carefully on bridges during strong sea winds
