Course Overview
The Jeongseon High1 Resort Winter Drive climbs through deep mountain villages to High1 Resort. After viewing two streams converging at Auraji, follow winding mountain roads up to the ski resort.
Jeongseon, the "Home of Arirang," fills with icicles and snow in every mountain village in winter. At High1 Resort, take the mountain train to the summit for panoramic views of the Taebaek Mountains in snow.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Jeongseon-eup to Auraji (approx. 12 km)
Past Jeongseon's 5-day market to Auraji with beautiful snowy riverside village scenery.
Section 2: Auraji to Gohan (approx. 10 km)
Mountain winding road with traces of old coal mining villages.
Section 3: Gohan to High1 Resort (approx. 10 km)
Climb to the ski and casino resort for winter leisure activities.
Driving Tips
- High1 ski season: late November to mid-March
- Jeongseon 5-day Market (2nd & 7th monthly): gondre rice, buckwheat pancakes
- Many sharp curves on mountain roads; drive slowly
- Auraji rafting operates only in summer season
