Course Overview
Gapyeong is the capital region's premier lakeside retreat, just one hour from Seoul. This 35 km course starts at Jaraseom Auto Camping and follows the Gapyeongcheon stream before joining the Bukhan River road to Nami Island wharf.
Jaraseom hosts the annual Jarasum International Jazz Festival each October. Cherry blossoms and canola flowers brighten spring, while cosmos color the roadside in autumn. Nami Island is world-famous as a filming location for the drama Winter Sonata.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Jaraseom to Gapyeong Town (approx. 8 km)
Enjoy the island's spacious lawns and riverside before heading to town.
Section 2: Gapyeong to Cheongpyeong (approx. 15 km)
The core riverside section along the Bukhan River, lined with cafes and pensions.
Section 3: Cheongpyeong to Nami Island Wharf (approx. 12 km)
Past Cheongpyeong Dam to the wharf for ferry access to Nami Island.
Driving Tips
- Expect traffic congestion during the Jazz Festival (October)
- Nami Island admission + ferry: 16,000 KRW for adults
- Gapyeong is famous for pine nut tofu and dakgalbi
- Consider taking ITX-Cheongchun train then renting a car locally
