Course Overview
This 28 km West Coast drive starts from Oido in Siheung, crosses the Sihwa Seawall, and ends on Daebudo Island. Oido is a fishing village famous for grilled shellfish and tidal flat experiences. The Sihwa Seawall houses the world's largest tidal power plant.
Daebudo offers island charm with salt farms, tidal flats, and vineyards. The sunset from Gubongdo Observatory is this course's crown jewel.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Oido to Sihwa Seawall (approx. 10 km)
Start from Oido's red lighthouse and enter the seawall for a drive over the sea.
Section 2: Sihwa Seawall to Daebudo (approx. 18 km)
Cross to the island and end at Gubongdo Sunset Observatory.
Driving Tips
- Sihwa Seawall is a 4-lane road with 80 km/h speed limit
- Eat grilled shellfish at Oido before departing
- Daebudo grapes are famous (harvest August-September)
- Arrive at Gubongdo Observatory one hour before sunset
