Course Overview

Gochang's Hagwon Farm spans 500,000 pyeong (about 1.65 million m2), alternating between canola flowers (April-May) and green barley (May-June) as Korea's largest flower farm.

This 20 km drive goes from Gochang town past Gochang Eupseong Fortress to Hagwon Farm.

Section Highlights

Section 1: Gochang Town to Gochang Eupseong (approx. 5 km)

Visit Gochang Eupseong, the best-preserved Joseon-era walled fortress, and walk along the fortress walls.

Section 2: Gochang Eupseong to Hagwon Farm (approx. 15 km)

Country roads lead to Hagwon Farm where 500,000 pyeong of canola fields open up before you. Tractor rides and flower field walks are available.

Driving Tips

  • Canola peaks April to May; green barley May to June
  • Hagwon Farm admission is 5,000 won for adults
  • Try Gochang's bokbunja wine and grilled eel
  • Combine with Seonunsa Temple's camellia flowers (April) for a full day
