Course Overview
Sokcho is the East Coast's premier food city. This course covers Daepo Port's fresh raw fish, Abai Village's famous squid sundae and Abai sundae, and Sokcho Jungang Market's crispy sweet dakgangjeong.
This 20 km food drive from Sokcho Beach loops through Daepo Port, Abai Village, and Jungang Market, combining coastal views with Sokcho's signature eateries.
Section Highlights
Section 1: Sokcho Beach to Daepo Port (approx. 7 km)
Coastal drive to Daepo Port where freshly caught raw fish is served at the sashimi restaurant row. Mulhoe (raw fish in cold broth) and assorted sashimi platters are popular.
Section 2: Daepo Port to Abai Village (approx. 6 km)
Taking the ferry across to Cheongho-dong's Abai Village, lined with Abai sundae and squid sundae specialty restaurants showcasing 1.6-generation displaced persons' unique food culture.
Section 3: Abai Village to Jungang Market (approx. 7 km)
Heading to the birthplace of Sokcho dakgangjeong (crispy sweet chicken), with famous spots like Manseok and Sinsa Dakgangjeong drawing long queues.
